What is an unattended cremation service?

An unattended cremation provides a simple and affordable alternative for your loved one’s funeral. Unlike some national direct cremation providers, Holdens Funeral Service cares for every family with the same compassion, dignity, and attention to detail, regardless of the type of service chosen.

Your loved one will remain in our care within our Chapel of Rest, you will be informed of the cremation date, and their ashes will be respectfully returned to you afterwards. Throughout the process, our caring team will be on hand to offer support whenever you need it.

What’s included in an unattended cremation service?

  • Member of Holdens Staff to speak directly to for help and advice during office hours.
  • Preparation and dressing of your loved one in clothes of your choice
  • Removal of deceased and transport to Holdens (upto) 10 miles and during office hours
  • Care of your loved one at Holdens Chapel of Rest
  • Online obituary notice
  • Standard oak effect coffin
  • Cremation at a local crematorium

What’s not included in an unattended cremation service:

  • Embalming
  • Viewing your loved one in our Chapel of Rest
  • Hearse
  • Minister or Celebrant
  • Use of our Chapel of Rest for your loved one’s funeral service
